Cars and light trucks, domestic and foreign.
The sign on Cony Road says it: Kirkpatrick’s works on cars and light trucks. Your pickup gets the same repairs and maintenance as any vehicle in the shop.
Work the shop handles on light trucks
- Brakes: pads, rotors and calipers.
- Steering and suspension: shocks, struts, tie rods, ball joints and wheel bearings.
- Exhaust and muffler repair.
- Cooling systems: radiators, water pumps, belts and hoses.
- Starting and charging: batteries, alternators and starters.
- Check engine lights and diagnostics.
- Oil changes and scheduled maintenance.
- Maine Class A state inspections.
Tell the shop about your truck.
- Year, make, model, engine and mileage.
- Two-wheel or four-wheel drive.
- What you’ve noticed, and when it started.
- How the truck is used, such as plowing or hauling.
Call with those details so the shop can confirm it’s work it takes on and plan your appointment. Wheel alignments are performed elsewhere.
Work that trucks wear out
- Plowing and hauling are hard on brakes, suspension and cooling.
- Four-wheel-drive parts need attention as trucks age.
- Maine salt rusts frames, brake lines and exhaust, which matters at inspection time.
Tell the shop how you use your truck, and it can look at the parts that work hardest.
How a visit works
- Call 207-622-1557 or request a callback. Tell the shop the year, make and model, and what you’ve noticed.
- Bring the vehicle to 82 Cony Road at the time you arrange, or use the night drop: put your key in an envelope and drop it in the slot.
- The shop looks at the concern and contacts you with what it found and the proposed work and charges.
- You decide. Work starts once you authorize it.
- Pick up at the Cony Road shop, Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m.–5 p.m.
